Ryan's path to City Hall was shaped by years of frontline service. As an Intelligence Operator with the Canadian Army Reserves, he learned to think strategically under pressure. As a Volunteer Fire Captain, he led crews through the most demanding situations imaginable. Those experiences don't leave you — they define how you lead.

Served over a decade as a frontline firefighter and Fire Captain, responding to emergencies and leading crews under pressure. This experience deepened Ryan's commitment to public safety and his respect for the dedicated men and women who protect our community.
Intelligence Operator / Electronic Warfare Operator
2000 – 2012Canadian Armed Forces — Army Reserves
Served 12 years in the Army Reserves as an Intelligence Operator and Electronic Warfare Operator. This service instilled the discipline, strategic thinking, and leadership skills that Ryan carries into his work as a city councillor every day.
